How Your Public Comments Were Used

Public Draft Programmatic EIS and scoping comments were used throughout the development of the OCS Alternative Energy Programmatic EIS.

How Your Draft Programmatic EIS Comments Were Used

The MMS sought information and comments on the analysis of potential impacts discussed in the Draft Programmatic EIS and on the assessment of the alternatives. The MMS also sought additional data or information that would improve the analysis in the Draft Programmatic EIS. Public comments on the Draft Programmatic EIS were taken into consideration during preparation of the Final Programmatic EIS.

How Your Scoping Comments Were Used

The public scoping comment period was the first major public involvement opportunity for the OCS Alternative Energy Programmatic EIS. Public scoping comments were taken into consideration to determine relevant issues of concern to stakeholders that influenced the scope of the environmental analysis and the alternatives considered in the Draft Programmatic EIS.

Comment Consideration

Written and oral comments were given equal weight, and the Minerals Management Service considered all comments received in defining the scope of this Programmatic EIS and refining the analysis.

Scoping Summary Report

A scoping summary report covering all comments received, including those provided orally at the scoping meetings is available under Documents.
